2008 Season Summary

2008 got off at a bad start with 2 non-finishes (DNF).  After Kirkistown the car needed a new gear box and an other new gear box after Bishopscourt when the drive shaft broke exploding the gear box,  this was very hard on our 2008 budget but we were determined to get a finish at the Circuit of Ireland.  After a lot of hard work from The Crozier Motorsport Team the car was prepared and ready for the Circuit at Easter.

Day one of the Circuit went well running 5th in class and when it came to the night stages we put the pressure on and moved in 2nd in class just 3 seconds from the lead.  Fortunately at the service area we noticed that a drive shaft had to be replaced again and on Day 2 of the rally we kept a steady pace thinking of the gear box and shafts, but we dropped to 3rd.

After the Circuit we made the decision that we could get no more speed out of the Saxo with out mechanical failure so the Saxo was put on the market and sold.  Thinking we could have bought an other car in time for Round 4 this was not to be.  A class 5 car was proving hard to get, so we decided to cange class and move to 4wd group N Class and bought a Mitsubishi Evo.  This was our budget gone for the year so we decided to just get used to the new car 2 local rallies this season the Mourne Rally and the Ulster National Rally.  So far the Evo has been fantastic car and has given us to wins straight away.
